Which TRI-FIT suit is best for you and your racing needs?

This is one of the most common questions we get here at TRI-FIT, so we asked owner Dan Evans, the man behind the designs, to talk us through each of the suits and the benefits they have, plus what type of user and race they are best suited for.
LIBERTY
When we were thinking of the LIBERTY tri suit, we wanted to try something a little different. With the EVO and GEO, we were aiming for speed, cutting edge technology and premium fabrics to help athletes find every second or watt possible. But that isn’t what triathlon is about for a lot of our customers. It’s about having fun; it’s about expressing themselves and it’s about the freedom of being outdoors and achieving their goals. This is what the LIBERTY is all about.
We had a great base to work from with the 220 Triathlon “Best in Test” EVO and many of the features that are on the original EVO have trickled down to the LIBERTY meaning it is a fantastic entry level, and very competitive, triathlon suit. It features the Elastic Interface Tri Pad, perfect for any distance, and still used on our EVO NEXT GEN, plus the handy side pockets that so many of our customers love. Side access rear pockets are great and easy to use plus silicone leg grippers keep the suit firmly in place. Then there is the colour. It is very different from what we normally do, but its bright, colourful, and inclusive, which was very important and why we named it LIBERTY.
Athlete Type – Great for beginners and seasoned athletes that want a more affordable or stand out suit.
Distance – Suitable for all distances.
EVO NEXT GEN
The EVO, the suit that started it all! Many people wondered how we were going to improve on a suit that was already considered the best on the market, but from the second we released the original EVO we were working on the next generation.
To improve aerodynamics and comfort on the EVO NEXT GEN we moved the side leg mesh pockets to behind the hips, plus made them smaller, perfect for a couple of gels. We also did away with the silicone leg gripper which can cause sausage leg and adds unnecessary stitching and seams. This is replaced by a seamless laser cut finish hem with internal printed silicone gripper which is very comfortable against the skin. We also wanted more colour on the suit, so introduced our vibrant blue and green variants which have gone down very well with our customers.
The EVO is the perfect all round triathlon suit. Sprint to Ironman, beginner to pro. This suit does it all! It is feature packed, extremely comfortable, and breathable, there is loads of storage, it’s easy to open for toilet stops, plus we think it looks great!
Athlete Type – Beginner all the way up to Pro. Athletes who appreciate comfort and features and who want to wear a market leading, award-winning race suit.
Distance – Suited to middle and long distance due to the features, but equally at home on short course.
GEO
The GEO was a test to see how quick we could go. It’s a stripped back, but not that stripped back, racing thoroughbred! There are no gimmicks on the GEO, it is just made to go fast!
We worked with numerous experts and pro triathletes when producing the GEO and we are very happy with the result.
Each fabric was carefully chosen from 1,000’s for its exact performance benefits in a specific area of the suit, then we used the latest technology to put them all together. I am particularly proud of the internal rear pocket where the pocket bag is on the inside of the suit with only the 2 entry points showing, as supposed to other brands and suits where the pocket bag is stitched to the outside of the suit, and the TRI-FIT Developed chamois pad.
We just couldn’t find the right pad for what we wanted, so we spoke with our factories and developed our own. Small, breathable, dense, moisture wicking, comfy, you name it, this pad has it! So much so that 220 Triathlon described it as “one of the best we’ve ever tested”.
Put all this together with our striking geometric patterns and subtle colourways and it really is just a stunning race suit.
Athlete Type – Athletes who want to be quick at whatever distance they are racing. Athlete who appreciates high quality, high performance, and subtle styling.
Distance – Perfect for short distances all the way up to Ironman.
SUMMARY
The LIBERTY is great for those new to the sport, those who like to stand out, plus those looking for a premium suit that is affordable. The EVO NEXT GEN is a feature packed, award-winning all-rounder, suitable for any distance and any athlete, then the GEO is a quick race suit which high performance technology and subtle styling for those that want to go fast and appreciate quality at any distance.
